A permit was issued by the City of Chicago on November 3 to construct a three-story plus basement, three-unit residential building at 1654 South Drake Avenue in North Lawndale. And soon, pending permits will allow identical proposals to be erected on either side of it. The nine total units are under development by Westside Community Group, Inc.
A demolition permit was issued on October 29 to tear down a three-story residential building at 2724 North Lehmann Court on the northern edge of Lincoln Park. That will clear the site for a new development from Contemporary Concepts.

With the arrival of excavation equipment in the final days of October, construction has now begun for a new residential building at 2644 North Lakewood Avenue in Lincoln Park. The homes replace a large 1992-built single-family dwelling at 2642 North Lakewood that was permitted for demolition in July and razed in late summer.
The Chicago City Council has approved plans for a mixed-use development at 2121 West Grand Avenue in West Town. Located mid-block between North Leavitt Street and North Hoyne Avenue, the proposal will replace a large vacant lot next to a Goodwill store. The project is being led by local developer Panoptic Group.
