Plans have been revealed for a mixed-use development at 2121 West Grand Avenue in West Town. Located near the intersection with North Hoyne Avenue, the proposal would replace a large vacant lot that is occasionally used for material storage. The project is being led by Panoptic Group, which has completed similar developments both nearby and across the city.
As excavation work wraps up and pile driving nears, a tower crane permit has been issued for 1221 West Washington on the boundary of the Fulton Market District and the West Loop. The permit had been in the Chicago Data Portal since August 28, and it went live on Wednesday, October 8.
A permit has been issued by the City of Chicago to allow construction to begin on a 44-unit residential development at 6301 South Western Avenue in Chicago Lawn. Using the address of 2355 West 63rd Street, the permit was applied for by the Southwest Organizing Project (SWOP) on April 7 of this year. It came through on October 7 with a reported cost of $16 million.
Details have been revealed for a new proposal at 1450 North Larrabee Street in the Near North Side. The new plans follow the previous development team’s withdrawal from the project and the city’s issuance of a new RFP earlier this year. This time, efforts are being led by Evergreen Real Estate Group and KLEO Enterprise, in collaboration with the CHA.
Plans are moving forward for a new residential development at 1035 South Boulevard in Oak Park. Located along the CTA Green Line tracks at the corner of South Marion Street, the new structure would replace a parking lot behind the historic arcade building at the front of the site. The project is being led by Sachem Building LLC, the owner of the arcade building.
