The Chicago City Council has approved the residential development at 1453 N Sedgwick Avenue in Old Town. Located south of the intersection with W North Avenue and near the Sedgwick CTA Brown Line station, the upcoming proposal replaces two two-flats built in 1883. The revised design was revealed in February of this year and is being led by the property owner Danny Xin under the name Sedgwick Properties, while the architect is currently unknown.
A six-story affordable housing project in Humboldt Park is displaying signs of pre-construction activity at 1237 N California Avenue, the site of the former La Casa Puertorriqueña Puerto Rican community center. Located east of the intersection with N Pulaski Road near Orr Park, the upcoming project will replace a combination of empty lots and one-story commercial structures owned by the city and developer. 548 Capital is behind the proposal being designed by Lamar Johnson Collaborative, both of which have past experience with affordable housing and working with the city.
Since our update last fall, exterior construction has completed for a five-story residential structure located at 913 W School Street in Lake View. The Hageman Group‘s plans yielded a total of 22 apartments, including four studios, eight one-bedrooms, eight two-bedrooms, and two three-bedroom apartments.
