A restoration project is currently in progress for a residential apartment building located at 251 E 121st Place in West Pullman, following fire damage that impacted apartments #511 and #512. The building, which is a five-story structure, is undergoing necessary repairs to bring the affected units back to habitable conditions.
The Chicago City Council has approved rezoning for a new residential development at 517 W 119th Street in West Pullman. Located on the southwest corner with S Normal Avenue, the new building will replace a vacant lot next to a small one-story structure. The rezoning from B1-1 Neighborhood Shopping District to B2-3 Neighborhood Mixed-Use District will allow developer West Pullman LLC to proceed with the HED Architects-designed affordable housing apartment building.
The proposed zoning has been approved for a residential development at 955 W 115th Street in West Pullman. Located along W 115th Street, the site is currently a vacant lot spanning from S Morgan Street to the Major Taylor Trail. Habitat for Humanity Chicago is behind the development.
