A groundbreaking has been held for the residential development at 1805 N Hamlin Avenue in Logan Square. The project is located right off of the westernmost edge of the 606 trail and replaces a no-demolished one-story masonry building, dubbed ‘Encuentro Square’, it will be split into multiple phases with public parkland as well. In attendance were members of developer Latin United Community Housing Association (LUCHA) who worked with Canopy Architecture and Site Design Group on the buildings.
A construction permit has been approved for a new residential development at 1358 S Fairfield Avenue in Douglass Park. The three-story building will comprise three dwelling units, a rear stair, and a parking pad for three vehicles. The site previously housed another structure, but specific details were not provided in the permit data. East Douglas Partners LLC is the owner of the development.
A construction permit has been approved for a new residential building at 1736 W Superior Street in West Town. The upcoming development is slated to be a three-story residence housing three units, each accompanied by a basement.
Additional details have been revealed for the next phase of the St Boniface development at 1342 W Chestnut Street in Noble Square. Located across the street from Eckhart Park and replacing a vacant lot just east of the redeveloped cathedral, the building will be the second of new-construction structures of the project. This is being led by ZSD Corp with SPACE Architects + Planners working on the design.

The four-story masonry building will house four dwelling units and will feature an elevator, a basement level, and a fire suppression sprinkler system. The new structure will have both an attached garage and exterior parking spaces. Nikola Delic owns the property.
