Development Group, LLC Fulton Market Branch has been granted a permit for the construction of a new four-story mixed-use building at 2129 North Damen Avenue in Bucktown. The permit, issued on August 19, comes after a 119-day self-certification process that began with the application submission on April 22.
The new building will feature six dwelling units, ground-floor retail space, a rooftop deck with stair enclosures and an elevator over-run, a two-car garage on the first floor, and a detached four-car garage with a rooftop deck. Each residential unit will have a rear porch with stairs on the second, third, and fourth stories.
The permit fees for this project total $13,890.93, with $12,332.93 paid for building fees, $618.00 for zoning fees, and $940.00 in other fees. The reported cost of construction is estimated at $3,080,250.00.
John Hanna, a Chicago-based architect, is the self-certified architect for the project.

Based on the layout described, this one is gonna have to be a double-lot, so one of the structures on either side of 2129 is also biting the dust. Hopefully its not that worker’s cottage.
I live in the neighborhood. 2129 and the worker’s cottage are boarded up, so it looks like they’re both getting torn down.
I don’t see a pending demo permit for either address yet. I’ll keep watching.
Sure looks like you’re correct. That board-up job appears final. I spoke to a neighbor, and it’s his understanding that 2127 and 2129 are both to be demolished.
And there they are.
