Progress continues on the first-floor parking level at 455 North Carpenter Street in West Town, the future 72-unit residential building from Range Group. The ground floor will include 33 parking spaces, the residential lobby, lots of bicycle storage, and a single retail space. The L-shaped structure replaces the former Allied Valve Industries building demolished this past fall from the southeast corner of Carpenter Street and Grand Avenue.

Full Building Permit Issued For 455 North Carpenter In West Town

The residential development at 455 North Carpenter Street in West Town received its full building permit on Wednesday, February 19. Range Group is erecting a five-story, 72-unit building designed by Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture here, with one retail space, a residential lobby, bike storage, and a 33-space parking garage on the first floor. The permit application is dated October 11, 2024, and shows an estimated cost for this phase of construction of $17 million.

Two-Flat At 1650 North Mozart Street In Humboldt Park Lands A Permit

The City of Chicago has issued a new construction permit to build a two-flat residence at 1650 North Mozart Street in Humboldt Park. The permit was issued on December 30 after being applied for on November 5. The address (1650) appears to be a side yard for the home at 1652 North Mozart, a two-story frame residence which listings show was built in 1894 and sold in July for $650,000. It is being razed for the new project.

Foundation Is In The Ground For 455 North Carpenter in West Town

The foundation has been excavated for a residential development coming to 455 North Carpenter Street in the West Town neighborhood. Replacing the former home of Allied Valve Industries, which was torn down this fall, the new building from Range Group will bring 72 dwelling units across a five-story structure. With the foundation now in place, you can clearly see the L-shaped building’s footprint.
