Updated plans have been revealed for the mixed-use redevelopment of the Hollander Building at 2422 N Milwaukee Avenue in Logan Square. Located just northwest of the intersection with W Fullerton Avenue and backed by the CTA Blue Line tracks, the upcoming project will also expand into the two lots next door replacing a one-story commercial structure. Development Commission Approves Senior Housing At 9633 S Cottage Grove Avenue In Pullman

The Chicago Community Development Commission has approved financing for the residential development at 9633 S Cottage Grove Avenue in Pullman. Located north of the intersection with E 99th Street and surrounded by rail tracks, I-94, and Chicago State University, the project replaces a one-story commercial building near a heavily forested vacant lot. Part of the larger $1 billion in funding approved for affordable housing, developers Trinity United Church of Christ is working with Johnson and Lee Architects on the design of the multi-phase proposal.

Chicago YIMBY continues our Sister Cities series covering projects across the Midwest with a newly completed building in our closest neighbor city, Milwaukee. The predominantly residential structure at 700 E Kilbourn Avenue in the heart of downtown has become the world’s tallest mass-timber structure, placing the city at the heart of the discussion of future construction technologies. Developers New Land Enterprises and Wiechmann Enterprises partnered with architecture firm Korb + Associates on its design and Thornton Tomasetti on its engineering.

Chicago YIMBY Speaks With The Architects Of 43Green Phase II In Bronzeville

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the mixed-use development at 301 E 43rd Street in Bronzeville. Dubbed 43Green Phase II, the project comes after the completion and success of the first phase west of the CTA tracks. Replacing a one-story commercial building on the site, developers P3 Markets and The Habitat Company have teamed up with Moody Nolan and Landon Bone Baker Architects on the design of the new structure.
