Two Units Permitted On Empty Lot Next To Jefferson Park On The Lower West Side

A two-story, two-unit building has been permitted for construction at 1633 South Jefferson Street on Chicago’s Lower West Side. The location, a long-empty lot next to the recently-built Thomas Jefferson Park and playground, straddles the boundaries of Pilsen and the South Loop. The permit was issued on April 8, with an application date of February 7. It shows a reported construction cost of $3,303, which is probably not accurate.

Permit Issued To Rehab Multi-Unit Residence At 7346 South Peoria Street In Englewood

The City of Chicago has issued a renovation permit for 7346 South Peoria Street in Englewood. The approval will allow the new owner, Stone Equity Inc of  Arlington Heights, to rescue the home after purchasing it in September of last year for $50,000. They applied for the permit on January 9, and it was approved on April 11. It comes with a reported construction cost of $30,000.

Still Awaiting Demolition, 4309 North Lincoln Scores A Construction Permit In North Center

Demolition has yet to begin on the small retail plaza at 4313 North Lincoln Avenue in North Center, but the construction permit for the residential building taking its place has been issued. Demo fencing has been set up around the plaza’s perimeter since a previous visit last month, shortly after permission to tear the buildings down came through, but Precision Excavation’s on-site equipment has yet to dig in.
