The City of Chicago has granted a construction permit for a townhouse development situated at 4717 S Ingleside Avenue in Kenwood. The project, owned by WEMI Properties LLC, will introduce a trio of two-story masonry townhouses, each with a basement and each housing three residential units. This new development will replace a previously vacant plot of land.
The Committee on Design has reviewed plans for the mixed-use expansion of the Black Ensemble Theater (BE) at 4427 N Clark Street in Uptown. Dubbed ‘The Free To BE Village’ and located across the street from the theater’s current building, the new development will replace a one-story commercial building and surface parking lot. Developed by the theater itself, they have contracted a design group made up of Nia Architects, Gensler, and Site Design Group for the work.
The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the mixed-use development at 375 N Morgan Street in Fulton Market. Also located at the address of 901 W Kinzie Street, the project will sit directly behind the Guinness Open Gate Brewery and replace a vacant lot. We recently covered the proposal when its application was submitted last week, now it has received its approval and developer LP Holdings 375 LLC can proceed with the Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture-designed tower.
The construction of the four-story residential development at 4102 N Sheridan Road in Buena Park continues to rise, with the second story now taking shape. Barrett Homes, the project developer, plans to transform the site of a former surface parking lot into a building containing 32 residences.
A permit has been issued to property owner Dajuan Robinson for the development of a residential three-flat at 6442 S Evans Avenue in West Woodlawn. The permit, issued on July 24th, details a three-story frame building with no basement, set to replace an empty lot.
