Construction permits have been issued for a five-story residential building for 2423 S State Street in Near South Side. The occupying owner, City Pads, plans nine units with a co-living layout. Other features will include a roof deck and accompanying pergola, a six-foot masonry trash enclosure, and five outside parking spaces.
Work on the exterior wall has climbed the western face of the Peoria Green development, a six-story condominium project at 123 S Peoria Street in West Loop. Planned by ZSD Corporation, the building squeezes within an irregularly shaped lot, requiring it to split into adjacent east and west wings. ZSD Corporation plans for 17 units spread across its 70,000 square feet, ranging from four- to five-bedrooms. Prices range between $1.8 million and $3 million, according to the development website which also lists units are 90 percent sold. In January Crain’s reported that given the unexpected demand in sales, the developers altered the original programming to include more higher-priced units.
Zoning has been approved for a new multi-building mixed-use development at 1601 N Western Avenue in Wicker Park. The project site is located on a corner lot, at the intersection of W North Avenue and N Western Avenue. The nearest CTA public transit is accessed at the edge of the site at the intersection of W North Avenue and N Western Avenue, serviced by bus routes 49 and 72. The Damen CTA L station, serviced by the Blue Line, is an eleven-minute walk away. GW Properties is in charge of the development.
Demolition permits were recently issued for two adjacent residential buildings at 117 and 119 S Bell Avenue in Near West Side, several blocks west of United Center. Both masonry buildings rise two stories and house multiple units. Each structure also uses a distinct gray or brown stone siding throughout its exterior.
Renderings have been revealed for an updated 29-story mixed-use tower at 1130 N State Street in the Near North Side. The project site is located on a corner lot at the intersection of N State Street and W Elm Street. The Clark/Division CTA L station, serviced by the Red Line, can be accessed within a four-minute walk. The 36 CTA bus route can be accessed on the corner of the site at the State and Elm stop. Newcastle Limited is in charge of the development.
