Construction permits have been issued for a trio of new residential developments located at 3942, 3944, and 3946 S Wells Street in the Fuller Park neighborhood. Each building will stand three stories (not including a basement level) and come with three dwelling units. The lowermost units will be duplexes integrating with the basement levels. The listed owner of the projects is Cedric Whitten, whose current plans will be replacing a vacant grass lot.

City Council Approves Residential Development In Old Town

The Chicago City Council has approved the residential development at 1453 N Sedgwick Avenue in Old Town. Located south of the intersection with W North Avenue and near the Sedgwick CTA Brown Line station, the upcoming proposal replaces two two-flats built in 1883. The revised design was revealed in February of this year and is being led by the property owner Danny Xin under the name Sedgwick Properties, while the architect is currently unknown.

A six-story affordable housing project in Humboldt Park is displaying signs of pre-construction activity at 1237 N California Avenue, the site of the former La Casa Puertorriqueña Puerto Rican community center. The Hispanic Housing Development Corporation, a nonprofit developer, is spearheading the six-story, 40-unit residential building designed for working families and seniors in need of affordable housing options.

Located east of the intersection with N Pulaski Road near Orr Park, the upcoming project will replace a combination of empty lots and one-story commercial structures owned by the city and developer. 548 Capital is behind the proposal being designed by Lamar Johnson Collaborative, both of which have past experience with affordable housing and working with the city.
