The Chicago Zoning Board of Approvals has approved a new residential development at 1010 W Madison Street in the West Loop. Located just north of the intersection with N Morgan Street, the project going by the name of Momad will replace a vacant parking lot and bring new for-sale condominiums to the growing area. Developer Fulton Street Companies is behind the project along with local architecture firm SCB who is working on the design, both companies with an extensive history in premium Chicago projects.

Initial Permits Approved For Residential Conversion At 1039 W Lawrence Avenue In Uptown

Initial permits have been approved for the residential conversion of the former Lorali Hotel at 1039 W Lawrence Avenue in Uptown. Located on the southwest corner of the intersection with N Kenmore Avenue, the empty building most recently served as an SRO three years ago before being vacated by its current owner. Owner Jim Stoller has been working towards making the conversion a reality since 2019 when he received zoning approval along with relocating the building’s past residents at his own expense.

Located just east of the intersection with S Oakley Avenue, the project will replace a vacant lot near the industrial area of the Chicago River’s southern branch. Developer 2236 Cermak LLC has partnered up with local design firm Hanna Architects who have worked on various other smaller residential buildings across the city.
