Exterior work is nearing completion for a new condominium building coming to 2923 North Southport Avenue in Lake View. The four-story, three-unit project got a new construction permit from the city on January 17. The property sits mid-block just south of the six-point Southport/Lincoln/Wellington intersection. The Pavlovcik Architecture-design calls for balconies at the front and back of the building plus a rooftop deck. An attached garage accessed from the rear alley will have parking for three vehicles, and will be joined on the ground level by commercial space at the front, along Southport Avenue. An elevator is also included in the plans. McKinney Group is both the developer and the general contractor.

5151 North Lincoln reaches full height in Lincoln Square

The 42-unit apartment building being constructed at 5151 North Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln Square has topped out at its full five-story height. The Hanna Architects design includes retail space and a twenty-car garage on the ground floor, with the residences occupying the upper four stories. Foster and Lincoln LLC is named in the construction permit, issued back in 2022, as the developer, with DOM Properties as general contractor.

City Council Approves 3955 N Kilpatrick Avenue In Old Irving Park

The Chicago City Council has approved the large-scale mixed-use development at 3955 N Kilpatrick Avenue in Old Irving Park. Sitting near the six-corner intersection with W Irving Park Road, the project will replace a large vacant plot which was previously a Peoples Gas facility. Now developer GW Properties can move forward with the multi-structure proposal.

Construction nearly complete on three new residential units at 2019 South Throop Street

Construction progress is nearly complete for three new residential units within a three-story building at 2019 South Throop Street in Pilsen. The City of Chicago issued a permit for the development on January 16 of this year. It replaces a long-vacant lot that sold in 2023 for $230,000, according to Redfin. A Chicago-based LLC is building the residences.

City Council Approves New Tower In Near North Side

The Chicago City Council has approved the mixed-use development at 1565 N Clybourn Avenue in the Near North Side. Sitting on the corner with N Halsted Street in the quickly changing area, the project will replace an existing two-story bank within a larger complex owned by developer The Georgetown Company.

Three-story, three-unit condo building topped out at 3511 North Bosworth Avenue in Lake View

A three-story, three-unit condominium building at 3511 North Bosworth Avenue has reached full height in the Lake View neighborhood. Being built by Bachula Development, the homes will include two duplex condos and a penthouse unit, the sale of which has already been marked as contingent. Each residence will have access to private outdoor space via a terrace or roof deck. A detached garage at the rear of the property will house four parking spaces; two are for the penthouse condo, with one each appropriated for the duplexes. It will also have a rooftop deck. 360 Design Studio is responsible for the architecture.

Zoning Application Submitted For Multi-Generational Project In Washington Park

A zoning application has been submitted for the elderly residential development at 5300 S Calumet Avenue in Washington Park. The unique proposal will rise on the corner with E 53rd Street and replace a long term vacant lot near the park. The project is being led by The Renaissance Collaborative (TRC) and Housing Opportunities & Maintenance for the Elderly (HOME).

327 West Armitage Avenue readying two new condos for Spring 2025 delivery

Two condominiums are under construction at 327 West Armitage Avenue in Lincoln Park’s Old Town neighborhood. Located virtually across the street from the Lincoln Park Zoo, exterior work on the building looks nearly complete, with brickwork all around and windows installed on all floors. Developed by Halcyon Development Group, the units are expected to deliver in the spring of 2025, according to property information from Porter Goldberg Residential.

New Residential Tower Proposed For Downtown Evanston

Further details have been revealed for the mixed-use redevelopment of the north end of Church Street Plaza at 900 Clark Street in downtown Evanston. The new project will sit on the intersection with Maple Avenue, replacing a portion of the large retail/commercial complex built in 2000. Now its current owner GW Properties is hoping to expand its offerings.

Concrete continues to rise at 400 Lake Shore North Tower

The concrete core of the 400 Lake Shore North Tower continues to rise, and all evidence of the cofferdam from the Chicago Spire dream has disappeared, at Lake Shore Drive and the Ogden Slip in Streeterville. The team of LR Contracting and BOWA Construction, along with concrete contractor Goebel Forming, are making great progress on bringing Related Midwest’s 72-story residential skyscraper to life.
