A groundbreaking has been held for the residential development dubbed Sarah’s on Lakeside at 4737 N Sheridan Road in Uptown. Located on the northeast corner with W Lakeside Place not too far from the lakefront, the upcoming structure will replace a vacant lot near other properties operated by the same developer. That being non-profit organization Sarah’s Circle who is working with global architecture firm Perkins + Will on its design.
Updated details have been revealed for the first phase of the Halsted Point development at 901 N Halsted Street on Goose Island. Replacing the long-standing Greyhound Bus facility which is being demolished on the southern end of the island, the new multi-tower project will sit near the upcoming permanent casino just two-blocks to the south. Canadian-based Onni Group is behind the proposal with local firms Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture and Hitchcock Design Group on the team.
The residential project at 120 N Willard Court in West Loop known as “120 Willard”, is steadily approaching completion. Developed by PLD Custom Homes, the five-story residential development will provide seven housing units. The developer is replacing a former 1800’s-era single-family brick residence. As can be seen in photos, the final touches to the metal accents and inset balconies are currently underway.
The Chicago City Council has approved the residential development at 2300 W Ainslie Street in North Center. Located near the intersection with N Claremont Avenue and encompassing the whole of the St. Matthias rectory, the proposal has gone through several iterations and options due to neighbors complaining about an increase in density. Now CKG Realty Group can move forward with their revised plan for redeveloping the site.
A construction permit has been issued for a new residential development at 6319 S Champlain Avenue in Woodlawn. The project will feature a two-story building with two dwelling units, replacing a vacant plot. The owner of the project is Champlain Rhodes, LLC.
