Yesterday, we were introduced to a pair of three-story, three-unit buildings coming to the 4200 block of South Calumet Avenue in Bronzeville. On Wednesday, January 15, three more permits were issued for the same development team of APMW Development Corporation and architect of record Charles Schwartz to build nine more units in the 4100 block of South Calumet.
Brick and block work is nearing completion on the exterior of the new residential development at 6350 North Glenwood Avenue in the Edgewater neighborhood. Located on the southwest corner of Glenwood and Devon Avenues, the four-story, 12-unit building from Variable Properties is replacing the former Uncommon Ground restaurant, which was demolished last summer.
The first of two three-unit buildings to be built at 4206-08 South Calumet Avenue in Bronzeville has been permitted by the City of Chicago to begin construction. The permit for 4208 South Calumet, applied for on October 30 of 2024, was issued on January 13. It calls for a three-story masonry structure with a rooftop deck and stair enclosure.
A residential development delivering 12 new units across the street from Humboldt Park is underway at 1604 North Francisco Avenue. Located on the northwest corner of North and Francisco Avenues, the five-story elevator building will include nine parking spaces in the first level, with a roof deck, stair enclosures, and elevator overrun atop the fifth floor.
Details have been revealed for a new residential development at 1333 N Kingsbury Street in Near North Side. The project is located two blocks south of the recently completed Foundry apartments just west of N Halsted Street. Per the recently submitted zoning application, the new tower will replace an existing surface lot used by the office building next door.
