Structural work has now passed the first floor for “The Seng,” part of the second phase of Structured Development‘s masterplan known as the Shops at Big Deahl. Located at 869 W Blackhawk Street in the Clybourn Avenue corridor, this new mid rise will yield 34 affordable units, whose future residents will be chosen by the Chicago Community Land Trust alongside the Chicago Department of Housing.

Initial details have been revealed for a mixed-use development at 3831 W Chicago Avenue in Humboldt Park. Located on the corner with N Avers Avenue, the new construction will replace a series of city-owned empty lots and three empty one-story masonry clad industrial buildings the developer now owns. The project is being led by 548 Development, who has worked on various Invest South/West proposals, with local firm Lamar Johnson Collaborative working on its modern design.

City Council Approves Mixed-Use Expansion At 3150 N Racine Avenue In Lakeview

The Chicago City Council has approved the rezoning for a mixed-use development at 3150 N Racine Avenue in Lakeview. The project on the corner with W Belmont Avenue recently received its approval from the Plan Commission and will be able to proceed with permitting when it sees fit. Being developed as an expansion to the adjacent Single Room Occupancy (SRO) building operated by developer Mercy Housing, the expansion continues the same design language and is being led by local firm Landon Bone Baker.

City Council Approves New High-Rises In Fulton Market

The Chicago City Council has approved the rezoning for two new high-rises in Fulton Market. The projects are located on opposite ends of the district, with the residential-based 1353 W Fulton Street anchoring the west end of the growing area and 360 N Green Street continuing the string of commercial mixed-use properties along Green Street on the eastern end of the neighborhood. Both towers recently received Plan Commission approval as well.
