Details have been revealed for a new residential development at 1948 W Peterson Avenue in West Ridge. Sitting on the corner with N Winchester Avenue and across the street from Rosehill Cemetery, the project will replace a long-vacant lot occasionally used for parking and storage. Efforts are being led by local developer Bob Loquercio.
The first week of April 2025 has already been a month of milestones at 400 Lake Shore in the Near North Side’s Streeterville neighborhood. Over the weekend, the construction team jumped the tower crane, adding six new sections to extend its height. On Monday, the first panels of glass, the ones visible Sunday inside the lower few floors of the tower, were installed on the north façade of the third level above ground.
A new RFP has been issued for a large parcel of land at roughly 1450 N Larrabee Street within Cabrini Green. Located on the intersection with N Clybourn Avenue, the wedge-shape lot had a previous proposal reviewed by the city back in 2023. However, the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) is back to the drawing board and seeking proposals for the property by this May.
The construction team of LR Contracting, BOWA Construction, and Goebel Forming jumped the tower crane at 400 Lake Shore in Streeterville this past weekend. Six new sections were delivered by truck to the site, and the erection crew placed them one at a time in the crane’s tower on Sunday. A permit allowing the crane to be tied in was issued by the city on March 10. The residential tower at 400 Lake Shore will yield 72 stories when completed.
A three-story, three-unit residential building has been permitted by the City of Chicago for the property at 2251 West 51st Street in Gage Park. The homes will replace a long-vacant lot most recently used for parking and storage. Issued on April 2, the permit names Angie Soto as the property owner, and Olabode Beckley as the architect of record. Calderon Construction & Painting Inc will be the general contractor, with the permit showing a reported construction cost of $130,000.
