Earlier this week, we covered 1257 W Roosevelt Road, a new residential building in Little Italy. This building is part of the broader Roosevelt Square Phase 3B, a collaboration between Related Midwest and the Chicago Housing Authority. Today’s article focuses on 1357 W Roosevelt Road, a similarly-designed structure located one block west and also part of this phase of the master plan. Having now reached the fifth floor in exterior construction, this six-story project will house 70 apartment units.
The residences will be predominantly affordable, with 29 units allocated by the Chicago Housing Authority for individuals earning 20 to 60 percent of the area’s median income. Additionally, 20 apartments will be designated for residents earning between 60 to 80 percent of the median income. The remaining 21 units will be offered at market rate.
The building will offer a range of amenities including a fitness room, a dog run, a package room, and an outdoor amenity space at the rear featuring seating alcoves and landscaping. As for parking, there will be 18 garage spaces and 22 surface spaces, with two of these being ADA accessible.
DesignBridge, the architect for the project, has adopted a similar black and white gridded pattern for the facade. Along the ground floor, the facade will feature a mix of brick and window wall panels.
For public transportation, residents will find bus Route 12 at the adjacent intersection of Roosevelt & Loomis. Other bus options within a roughly five-minute walk include Route 157 to the north, Route 60 to the east, and Routes 9 and X9 to the west. The CTA Pink Line is accessible via a 17-minute walk northwest to Polk Station, while the Blue Line’s Racine Station is a 20-minute walk north.
Bowa Construction is the general contractor for the project, with completion expected within this year.

I would like to apply for an apartment when construction is finished.
