Northwestern Medicine has reached a significant milestone in its plans to construct a new 5-story medical office building at 4822 S Cottage Grove Avenue in Bronzeville. The building, which has a budget of $80 million, is set to offer 237 indoor parking spaces, a loading space, and ground-level retail, enhancing access to medical services in the area.
With the issuing of construction permits on January 30, the development is part of Northwestern Medicine’s broader initiative to expand its footprint and accessibility across Chicago.
Designed by architect Kapil Khanna, the medical office building aims to meet the highest standards of sustainability and patient care. V3 Companies will serve as the consultant reviewer for the project.
Ujamaa Construction Inc, a general contractor based in Chicago, has been tasked with the construction of this project. In addition to Ujamaa Construction Inc, Gurtz Electric Company and DW Mechanical Group Inc will assist in the project.
The new facility, when complete, will be located steps from stops for the 4 but line. Beyond that, it will be a short walk from stops for the 47 bus line.
