Inspire West Town’s Core Reaches Full Height at 1140 W Erie Street

The two elevator and stair cores have now reached full height at Inspire West Town, hinting at the eight-story project’s future presence beside the Kennedy Expressway. Located at 1140 W Erie Street, the building is being developed by Bond Companies, and is set to include a mix of ground-level retail and 113 rental apartment units. A total of 23 affordable units will be provided under the affordable requirements ordinance, six of which will be on-site and the remaining 17 elsewhere in the vicinity.

Demo Permits Issued for 3179 N Clark Street in Lake View

Demolition permits have been issued for a two-story bank building, clearing the way for a new commercial development at 3179 N Clark Street in Lake View. Hubbard Street Group has planned the new two-story structure, which will be able to accommodate 59,000 square feet of retail or commercial space, and will include 295 feet of store frontage along W Belmont Avenue.

Aon Center Plaza Renovation Takes Shape in New Eastside

Terrain and landscaping work is taking shape at the foot of New Eastside‘s 83-story Aon Center, where the owner 601W Companies has planned for a major overhaul of the existing plaza and entry area. Located at 200 E Randolph Street, the nearly $7 million undertaking aims to provide a new public space that will serve as a gateway to the 1,136-foot tower, while acting as an extension of the adjacent Grant Park.

Permits Issued for 2612 W Chicago Avenue in West Town

Permits were issued recently for a new three-story residential building at West Town‘s 2612 W Chicago Avenue, currently occupied by a one-story commercial building. Gerard Coyle is the owner, whose project scope will include six total units, a rooftop deck, and a detached six-car garage with its own rooftop deck.

A Final Look at the 17-Story AMLI 808 in River North

Move-ins have begun for the completed AMLI 808, a 17-story mixed-use building at the corner of W Chicago Avenue and N Wells Street in Near North Side. AMLI is the developer of 808 N Wells Street, who has planned numerous other projects in Chicago such as the 49-story AMLI River North and AMLI Lofts in South Loop.

Permits Issued for 1335 W Walton Street in West Town

Construction permits have been issued for a three-floor residential development set for 1335 W Walton Street in West Town. Rafal Salabaj is the filing owner, who plans three total units, each with front balconies. Other building features include a rooftop deck and stair enclosure and a three-car masonry garage. The new project will replace a two-story frame building and a detached garage.

First-Floor Work Makes Headway for 2317 N Clark Street in Lincoln Park

First-floor construction is making significant progress at 2317 N Clark Street in Lincoln Park. Planned by 2300 Clark Development LLC, the new construction will be a four-story mixed-use building with ground-level retail and a total of 35 rental units.

Permits have been issued for a three-story residential building at 3815 N Lakewood Avenue in Lake View. Heffernan Builders LLC is the listed owner, with plans for four total units, a basement, a rear open porch and series of decks, and six parking stalls on a rear slab. The new development will replace a two-story masonry building and a rear one-story garage.

Facade Work Continues at 1123 W Randolph Street in Fulton Market District

Facade work is well underway for a topped-out mixed-use building located at 1123 W Randolph Street in Fulton Market. Prior to construction, this relatively small plot was occupied by a parking lot.

Permits Issued for New CPS School Building at 244 E Pershing Road in Bronzeville

Construction permits have been issued for a new annex addition to the Wendell Phillips High School, located at 244 E Pershing Road in Bronzeville. Planned by the Public Building Commission of Chicago, the building will mainly serve as a new gymnasium, and will replace an existing surface parking lot on the northeast corner of the campus. The existing structures on the campus include a landmarked three-story brick building from 1904, as well as other two buildings built in 1937 and 1944.
