Since YIMBY’s last update on the project, construction has completed for a five-story mixed-use building at 2709 W Division Street in Humboldt Park. Planned by Brinshore Development and the Puerto Rican Cultural Center, the structure has yielded a total of 24 affordable units atop a theater and ground-level retail. The new structure is set to replace four low-rise buildings demolished in 2021.

The Hageman Group‘s plans yielded a total of 22 apartments, including four studios, eight one-bedrooms, eight two-bedrooms, and two three-bedroom apartments.

The project kicked off this past January when the initial foundation permit was issued. As seen in most recent photos, extensive foundation work is already progressing rapidly. The City of Chicago has issued a renovation permit for 41 E Oak Street in Streeterville. The project will involve changes to the exterior of the existing two-story commercial building, as well as major alterations to the interior mercantile space. The overhaul will also involve both new roof and floor replacements to cater to the new interior layout.
