With full building permits issued last week, crane installation has begun for a new 11-story residential tower known as The Gateway Apartments in the Illinois Medical District. Located at 2050 W Ogden Avenue near the western edge of Illinois Medical District, the building will house 161 units ranging from studios to two-bedroom listings. Amenities will offer a rooftop pool and lounge, various indoor lounges, a fitness center, a game area, a business center, and bike storage.
Construction permits have been issued for a four-story residential building located at 4311 N Western Avenue in North Center. Heffernan Builders LLC is the listed owner, whose plans include four total units, a rooftop stair enclosure, a basement, two exterior parking spaces, and an attached two-car garage. The new development is set to replace a 1.5-story frame residence.
Cladding installation is progressing rapidly at the now topped-out Fulton Labs, rising 16 stories at 400 N Aberdeen Street in the Fulton Market district. Developed by Trammell Crow Company in collaboration with Zoë Life Sciences, the 420,000-square-foot building will be oriented towards biosciences and biotechnology companies, and will be the second installation of the Fulton Labs complex with 725,000 square feet of combined space. Programming will primarily consist of office and lab space, along with secondary lobby, retail, storage, and amenity space.
Demolition permits have been issued for a two-story multi-unit residential building and detached garage, located at 1534 W Augusta Boulevard in Noble Square. Jerzey Wasala of Hilo Inc. is the filing owner, whose plans involve a three-story, three-unit residential building. Units will comprise of two simplexes and one duplex-down, and the structure will stand 36 feet above grade. A zoning ordinance was passed in July of last year allowing the property to convert from RS-3 Residential Single-Unit (Detached House) to RM-4.5 Residential Multi-Unit District, thereby allowing for the development to proceed.
