The five-story educational addition will seamlessly connect with the pre-existing Science and Engineering Labs building, further augmenting UIC’s capabilities in its computer science curriculum and associated research endeavors.

Coppia, a 19-story, mixed-use development at 1101 W Van Buren Street in West Loop, has officially topped out. This new tower by Pizzuti Development sits between two existing residential buildings, filling a formerly vacant lot.

Full Permit Issued for Renovation at 2501 N Damen Avenue in Bucktown

With a full renovation permit now issued, Vienna Beef has kicked off a major new initiative at 2501 N Damen Avenue in Bucktown. Unofficially listed as 2409 N Elston Avenue in the permit, the $20 million redevelopment project will revamp the site the company had occupied for over 40 years before its closure in 2020. Previously, there were failed plans to replace the property with a Drive Shack driving range.

HHDC Dedicates 1203 N California Avenue in Humboldt Park to Pedro Albizu Campos

Last week, the Hispanic Housing Development Corporation (HHDC) dedicated its 64-unit affordable housing building in Humboldt Park to Puerto Rican activist Pedro Albizu Campos. Notable city leaders, including Mayor Brandon Johnson and Alderperson Jessie Fuentes, were in attendance. The mixed-use building, which has reached full height, stands at 1203 N California Avenue across from the Humboldt Park grounds.
