Structural Work Continues for Robert McCormick Leadership and Economic Opportunity Center in West Woodlawn

The Robert McCormick Leadership and Economic Opportunity Center has reached the second floor at 6623 S Dr Martin Luther King Jr Drive in the West Woodlawn neighborhood. The three-story project, overseen by Pastor Corey Brooks of Project H.O.O.D. (Helping Others Obtain Destiny) and Trammell Crow Company, occupies the site of a former vacant lot and temporary pop-up plaza. The facility, encompassing 85,000 square feet, will house a wide variety of educational, community-oriented, and leisure activities.

Connecting Atrium Fills Out for UIC’s Computer Design Research and Learning Center

The University of Illinois Chicago is making progress on the atrium portion of its new Computer Design Research and Learning Center. Located at 900 W Taylor Street in Little Italy, this facility will add 135,000 square feet of new educational and research programming. The five-story center is being added to the existing Science and Engineering Labs building.
