With white brickwork now seen along the ground floor, facade work continues on a seven-story mixed-use building located at 812 W Adams Street in West Loop. The project, managed by Luxe Suites Chicago, will house 80 rental apartments and 4,200 square feet of retail space upon completion.
Construction has officially completed for Embry, a 16-story residential condominium development at 21 N May Street in West Loop. Developed by Sulo Development and designed by Lamar Johnson Collaborative (LJC), the building has yielded 58 condominium units, 80 percent of which have been pre-sold at the time of opening. The building offers a range of unit types including two-, three-, and four-bedroom configurations, duplexes, and two penthouses. The column-free interior layouts vary in size from 1,828 to 5,187 square feet, with prices ranging from $1.4 million to $7.5 million.
In West Loop Gate, two office buildings located at 10 and 120 S Riverside Plaza continue to undergo renovations as part of a larger repositioning project. These two structures, each rising 21 stories, collectively offer 1.4 million square feet of space with 37,000-square-foot floor plates. With SOM as the original architect behind both structures, 10 S Riverside Plaza was constructed in 1965, while 120 S Riverside Plaza was completed in 1967.
Vertical construction continues at 633 S LaSalle Street, a 17-story residential project in Printer’s Row, following the completion of construction financing by Singapore’s Q Investment Partners (QIP) and Chicago-based Melrose Ascension Capital (MAC). The project, which recently changed hands from PMG and The Collective, is a key venture for QIP as it enters the US real estate market.
Foundation work has begun for a new 12-story mixed-use building at 1730 S Wabash Avenue in South Loop. Replacing a former parking lot, the new project will yield 110 apartment units and an 80-car garage on the first and second floors. There will also be ground-floor commercial retail.
