Owned by Rush Walton LLC, the L-shaped building currently houses a variety of retail storefronts and will continue to be retail-oriented once the new portion is complete. The filing description seems to indicate that the addition will be a separate mercantile space from the existing stores, with frontage located at 937 N Rush Street that lies caddy-corner to Walton Street.

Exterior work is wrapping up for 800 W Fulton Market, an 18-story office building located at the northeastern corner of West Loop‘s Fulton Market. Thor Equities has developed the 300-foot-tall edifice, helping to extend Downtown’s density westward into the former meatpacking district.

Renovation permits have been issued for an existing four-story masonry building located at 23 W Hubbard Street in River North. Filed under the owner 9-25 W. Hubbard LLC, the top three office floors will be converted to six residential units, while the existing ground-level retail and basement will be retained.

16-Story Fulton Labs Nears Topping Out at 400 N Aberdeen Street, in West Loop

Structural work has reached the 14th floor for Fulton Labs at 400 N Aberdeen Street, a specialized 16-story mixed-use office building tailored to bioscience and biotechnology. The project is developed by Trammell Crow Company in collaboration with Zoë Life Sciences, and is set to be the second installation of a 725,000-square-foot campus located in West Loop‘s Fulton Market District.

Permits Issued for 4138 S Michigan Avenue in Bronzeville

Construction permits have been issued for a three-story residential building, located at 4138 S Michigan Avenue in Bronzeville. The owner Janusz Kaczor has planned three total units, as well as a three-story rear open wood porch and a two-stall open concrete parking pad. The new development is set to replace a currently vacant lot.

Construction Reaches Fourth Floor of 1400 W Randolph Street in West Loop

Construction is progressing rapidly for a 26-story mixed-use building at 1400 W Randolph Street. Planned by Marquette Companies, the West Loop tower is located at the intersection of Randolph & Ogden, and will provide both ground-floor retail and 278 apartment units. Resident amenities include a pool, a fitness center, a dog park, and various outdoor deck spaces.

Permits Issued for 6447 S Ellis Avenue in Woodlawn

Permits have been issued for a three-story residential building at 6447 S Ellis Avenue, located in Woodlawn. Owned by Mike Slazas, the planned project will contain four total units, along with a basement and a rear three-story open porch. The new structure is set to replace a currently vacant lot. However, given the larger size of the parcel and its current address of 6445 S Ellis Avenue, it is unclear if the owner will ultimately fit two new buildings within its bounds.
