Permits have been issued for a single-story commercial building located at 6541 S Cicero Avenue in Clearing. The filing owner Guy Hollis of the company Hollis of Palos LLC, has planned for a restaurant to replace a currently vacant lot.

Beginning in 2014, FORM Development Group had planned a three-story hotel to occupy the parcel along with surrounding land. Those plans appear to have since been abandoned. Despite the project’s cancellation, the lots including 6541 S Cicero were re-designated from B1-1 to B3-1, thereby allowing for greater density.

Wendy Martin of Ollmann Ernest Martin Architects is the listed architect of record. No drawings or renderings of the project have been posted, but the filing description has indicated a frame structure for the restaurant.

Diners and workers will find various bus stops in the area, including Routes 54B and 165 located less than a minute walk north to the intersection of Cicero & 65th Street. Additionally, Routes 379, 383, 384, 385, and 390 are a four-minute walk south at Cicero & Marquette Road. Lastly, routes 63 and 63W can be found within a 10-minute walk north to various stops along 63rd Street.

For the CTA L, Midway station is a 20-minute walk northeast, with service for the Orange Line. Just to the west of the station are the terminals for Chicago’s Midway International Airport.

McCON Building Corporation is the general contractor for the $1,313,000 construction. No anticipated completion date has yet been published.
