Construction permits were recently issued for a five-story mixed-use development at 825 E 61st Street in Woodlawn. 5 Seasons Development Company is the permit’s listed owner, whose plans include ground-floor retail space, 56 units, a rooftop deck and stair enclosures, and an elevator. Parking will comprise of a 21-car ground-level garage and eight exterior parking spaces. The new structure will replace a vacant grass lot.

Construction is nearing completion for Cirrus and Cascade, two residential towers rising at 211 N Harbor Drive and 455 E Waterside Drive, respectively, in Lakeshore East. Developers Magellan and Lendlease have co-planned the project, which occupies Parcels J, K, and L within the original Lakeshore East masterplan.

Finishing touches are underway for Navy Pier Flyover, a one-third mile long elevated path meant to improve pedestrian and bike access around the mouth of the Chicago River. Commissioned by the Chicago Department of Transportation, the $64 million infrastructure project has been divided into three stages. The two already-completed stages connect the river to Ohio Street Beach, while the remaining third phase will integrate with Outer Drive Bridge.
