Only final touches remain for Elm 551 at Parkside, a three-building apartment complex at 551 W Elm Street in Near North Side. With Holsten Real Estate Development Corporation as the developer, the project is the latest milestone in a broader mixed-income masterplan known as Parkside of Old Town.

The development is replacing a former cluster of low-rise buildings and parking lots on a triangular parcel bound by W Chicago Avenue and N Milwaukee Avenue.

Currently, the parcel is occupied by a vacant grass plot just west of the CTA L tracks. Similar permits with the same listed parties were also issued last week for 4022 S Calumet Avenue, situated roughly a block to the northeast.
