Construction permits were recently issued for a three-story, three-unit residential building at 4155 S Prairie Avenue in Bronzeville. James Nahon is the listed owner, whose plans for the new structure include a rear two-story staircase and deck, as well as a three-car garage. Currently, the parcel is occupied by a vacant grass plot just west of the CTA L tracks. Similar permits with the same listed parties were also issued last week for 4022 S Calumet Avenue, situated roughly a block to the northeast.

Gary Wands of Door Thirteen Architects is behind the design. No drawings or renderings have yet been published, and currently it is unclear if the structure will be frame or masonry.

Closest bus access can be found for Route 3 at the nearby intersection of King Drive & 42nd Street, a five-minute walk east. Also within a five-minute walk is the CTA L’s 43rd Station, with service for the Green Line and bus service for Route 43.

Green space within the vicinity comprises of Jackson Playlot Park and Hadiya Pendleton Park, both within a 10-minute walk from the property.

Allbright Construction is the general contractor for the $450,000 project. A full completion timeline has not yet been announced.
