Construction permits have been issued for a four-story residential building located at 1940 N Mohawk Street in Lincoln Park. Owned by Mz-1943 Mohawk Development LLC, the new development will feature three total units, as well as a basement, a rear deck, a first-floor balcony, as well as second- and third-floor terraces with pergolas. The rear of the property will also include a three-car garage with a separate rooftop deck. The new construction is set to replace a postmodern-styled four-story residence.
Christopher Boehm of 360 Design Studio is the architect of record. Neither drawings nor renderings have yet been revealed, though the listing of multiple masonry contractors may indicate a brick or stone design.
For bus transit, residents will find nearby east and westbound stops for Route 73 located at Armitage & Larrabee via a two-minute walk to the northwest. Additional bus service within a roughly 10-minute walk includes Route 37 to the northeast, Routes 22, 36, and 73 to the east, and Route 8 to the northwest. Those looking to board the CTA L will find service at Armitage station via a 12-minute walk west.
Residents will have access to various green spaces, such as Bauler (Mathias) Park to the south, Oz Park to the northwest, and the sprawling Lincoln Park to the east.
Cashel Development, LLC is the general contractor for the $955,800 development, whose completion date is not yet known.

It’s really nice to see not everything in Lincoln Park that’s new is moving to less dense single family homes jumping from < $1 million to $2-5 million.
RIP. Chicago is losing its postmodern buildings rapidly, a real shame for the architectural heritage of the city. I’m sure it’ll be replaced with a tacky fake-traditional McMansion monstrosity like every other newbuild in that area.
