Coppia, a 19-story, mixed-use development at 1101 W Van Buren Street in West Loop, has officially topped out. This new tower by Pizzuti Development sits between two existing residential buildings, filling a formerly vacant lot.
Last week, the Hispanic Housing Development Corporation (HHDC) dedicated its 64-unit affordable housing building in Humboldt Park to Puerto Rican activist Pedro Albizu Campos. Notable city leaders, including Mayor Brandon Johnson and Alderperson Jessie Fuentes, were in attendance. The mixed-use building, which has reached full height, stands at 1203 N California Avenue across from the Humboldt Park grounds.
The Chicago Plan Commission is set to review the updated proposal for a mixed-use tower at 800 W Lake Street in Fulton Market. The high-rise, designed by GREC Architects, is backed by a development team comprising Ascend Real Estate and Intercontinental Real Estate Group.. The project aims to fill a vacant lot at the intersection of N Halsted Street that once housed small commercial establishments, including a corner bar.
Demolition has begun at 901 N Halsted Street on Goose Island for Halsted Pointe, a multi-phase, mixed-use development by Onni Group. The development will replace the existing Greyhound bus terminal and introduce the island’s first high-rise skyscraper.
Plans for the mixed-use redevelopment at 6300 S Cottage Grove Avenue in Woodlawn are set to be reviewed at this month’s zoning meeting. Located on the intersection with E 63rd Street, the project will restore and expand the old Washington Park National Park Bank building at the heart of the neighborhood. This work is being led by developer DL3 Realty who tapped local firm bKL Architecture for its design.
