Construction at 4715 N Western Avenue in Lincoln Square has reached the sixth floor, with structural work approaching the roof line of the mixed-use development. The project, developed by The Community Builders, will replace a former parking lot with a 76-foot structure containing 5,500 square feet of ground-level retail space and 63 affordable housing units.
Potential financing has been revealed for the Lincoln Yards megadevelopment near Goose Island. The money would come from Florida-based Kayne Anderson Real Estate who is exploring becoming the primary financial backer for the project according to Crain’s. The 53-acre development has stalled as the lending market has changed since its original announcement in 2018.
Details have been revealed for the expansion of the redevelopment of the former Maybelline headquarters at 5920 N Ridge Avenue in Edgewater. Located on the diagonal intersection with N Clark Street on the western edge of the neighborhood, the project will add on to the development called ‘The Mabel Exchange’. Efforts are being led by Ernst Development and Envoi Partners, with architecture-firm Hirsch MPG working on its design.
Initial details have been revealed for the mixed-use development at 2035 W Irving Park Road in North Center. Located on the southwest corner with N Seeley Avenue, the proposal will replace a small commercial building and its front parking lot. Efforts are being led by Altitude Capital Partners, with local firm Jonathan Splitt Architects working on its design.
The final exterior pieces are being installed for the 225 N Elizabeth Street project in Fulton Market, a collaboration between Sterling Bay and Ascentris. The 28-story mixed-use building, located at the corner of Fulton and Elizabeth Streets, has reached its maximum height of 314 feet and ranks seventh in the construction countdown.
