The new 21-story mixed-use tower at 166 N Aberdeen Street in Fulton Market District is approaching an exterior completion, with facade work continuing its 224-foot climb to the pinnacle. Branded as “One Six Six” and developed by Greystar, the high rise will yield 224 apartments atop ground-level retail space.
The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the mixed-use development at 301 E 43rd Street in Bronzeville. Dubbed 43Green Phase II, the project comes after the completion and success of the first phase west of the CTA tracks. Replacing a one-story commercial building on the site, developers P3 Markets and The Habitat Company have teamed up with Moody Nolan and Landon Bone Baker Architects on the design of the new structure. Extensive facade Installation can be seen for an eight-story mixed-use development known as “Inspire West Town,” located at 1140 W Erie Street in the West Town neighborhood. Bond Companies is the developer behind the project, which will provide both ground-level commercial space and 113 total apartments. There will be both on- and off-site affordable housing, with six on-site units and 17 that are being subsidized elsewhere in the vicinity. Unit sizes will fall between one- and three-bedrooms, with overhanging private balconies attached to select units.
Glass and metal installation has begun for CMK Companies’ 1400 S Wabash Avenue, a 30-story mixed-use high rise in South Loop. Set to stand 350 feet, the tower will contain a combination of ground-level retail and 299 rental units above. Since YIMBY’s last update, structural work has progressed rapidly, with work now climbing past the 20th floor.
Initial details have been revealed for a new mixed-use development at 415 N Sangamon Street in the West Loop. Located on the corner with W Kinzie Street directly across from the upcoming Guinness Brewery, the new proposal will incorporate the existing multi-story structure on site and occupy the adjacent vacant lot. The developer Fortem Voluntas Partners is led by ex-Sterling Bay leasing agent Joy Jordan. According to Crain’s, they have partnered up with local architecture firm Eckenhoff Saunders on the design of the sleek new tower.
