Initial Details Revealed For 43Green Phase II In Bronzeville

Initial details have been revealed for the second phase of 43Green at 301 E 43rd Street in Bronzeville. Located on the corner with S Prairie Avenue adjacent to the CTA Green Line 43rd station, the new Landon Bone Baker Architects-designed building will replace a one-story commercial building presently on the site. The project comes to us from co-developers P3 Markets and The Habitat Company, the same team behind the nearby first phase that began site prep earlier this year.

142 W Erie Street Enters Final Push Toward Completion in River North

Since its coverage in the 2021 year-end countdown, further window and railing installation has taken place for Sedgwick Development‘s 142 W Erie Street, formerly known as Bentham Chicago. The 14-story mixed-use building is located River North along the corner of Erie Street and LaSalle Drive, just one block east of the Wells Street restaurant corridor. Prior to the construction, the parcel was occupied by an auto body shop that was demolished in 2016.

Renovation work in full swing for Lawson House Renovation in Near North Side

Renovation is now visible and in full swing for the Victor F. Lawson House, a 24-story Near North Side high rise, which was built in 1931. Located at 30 W Chicago Avenue and formerly a YMCA, developer Holsten Real Estate plans to convert the 272-foot structure to 408 apartment units, deconverted from 538 single room occupancy. Programming will also include on-site social services and ground-level retail.

Bridgford Foods Facility is Coming Down in Fulton Market

Earlier this month, YIMBY reported on the Committee on Design’s review of 170 N Green Street, where CRG (of St. Louis-based Clayco) and Shapack Partners have planned a massive mixed-use development. The Fulton Market site was previously owned by Bridgford Foods, whose former packaging facility is currently undergoing full demolition. Clayco purchased the property for $60 million in 2020, prior to which Bridgford Foods had considered its own plans for a 17-story building to occupy the site.
