Exterior work is well underway at the 15-story Bentham Chicago, located near the center of the River North neighborhood. Designed and developed by Sedgwick Development, the 172-foot-tall building at 146 W Erie Street will house retail in its base and 31 condominium units above.
Permits have been issued for a new four-story mixed-use development at 1839 W Irving Park Road in North Center. The site is an interior lot between N Wolcott Avenue and N Ravenswood Avenue. The Irving Park CTA L station, serviced by the Brown Line, is a two-minute walk away. Derrig 1839 Irving LLC, likely an LLC for Derrig Management, is behind the project.
Window installation has begun at 551 W Elm Street, where a seven-story mixed-use building has been co-developed by Parkside Four Phase II, LP and Holsten. According to construction permits issued December 2019, the Near North Side project will include 69 residential units, as well as additional office and community space.

The project site is a full block lot, bounded by Metra tracks to the north, N May Street to the east, W Kinzie Street to the south, and N Racine Avenue to the west. The nearest public transportation is the Route 65 CTA bus, accessed at the Grand and Racine, within a three-minute walk from the site. The Morgan CTA L station, serviced by the Green and Pink Line, can be accessed within a ten-minute walk.
