New Community Center Receives Construction Permit In West Woodlawn

A construction permit has been issued for the new upcoming community center 6623 S Dr Martin Luther King Jr Drive in West Woodlawn. Located just north of the intersection with E Marquette Road, the development has been in the works for multiple years and will be replacing a vacant lot currently occupied by a pop-up plaza. Developers Project H.O.O.D. and Trammell Crow Company are working with local architecture firm BNMO Design on the upcoming structure.

Tax Incentives Approved For Pacifica Of Chicago In Chinatown

New tax incentives have been approved for the mixed-use redevelopment of the Hoyt Building at 465 W Cermak Road in Chinatown. Located along the south branch of the Chicago River on the corner with S Canal Street, the developer fully acquired the building late last year after first buying into it in 2007. That developer is Aurora-based Windfall Group who is working with SPACE Architects + Planners on the new community hub.

City Announces Winners Of McKinley Park RFP

The Chicago Department of Planning and Development has announced the winner of the Central Manufacturing District RFP. Located at 1769 W Pershing Road in McKinley Park just west of the intersection with S Ashland Avenue, we covered the three finalists earlier this year. After multiple community meetings the city has selected the team made up of IBT Group, Inherent l3c, Epstein, APMonarch, and Site Design Group as the winners.

The Chicago City Council has approved tThref=”https://chicagoyimby.com/category/building/mixed-use”>mixed-use development at 700 W Chicago Avenue in River West will be reviewed by the Committee on Zoning. Located on the intersection with N Halsted Street and replacing a massive Chicago Tribune facility, the proposal is the second attempt to develop the site across the street from the upcoming casino. This attempt is being led by Canadian-based developer Onni Group who tapped Goettsch Partners for its design.
