360 N Green Street Approaches Exterior Completion as Countdown’s Third Tallest Project

As the third tallest construction project in our year-end countdown, the 24-story 360 N Green Street in Fulton Market is undergoing final exterior and landscaping work. The 500,000-square-foot office building, developed by Sterling Bay, will feature office spaces, 5,400 square feet of retail space, and a range of tenant amenities. Floor plates will scale up to over 26,000 square feet, offering tenants access to private balconies between 249 and 523 square feet on each floor.

Caisson Permits Issued For Parcel O In Lakeshore East

Initial caisson permits have been approved for the mixed-use development at 193 N Columbus Drive in Lakeshore East. Located just north of the Blue Cross Blue Shield tower and commonly known as Parcel O, the project is finally moving forward after a multi-year delay. Led by developer Parcel O LLC, as a stand-in for Magellan Development Group, the proposal is being designed by local firm bKL Architecture whose offices are right next door.

1114 W Carroll Takes Fourth Place In Year-End Countdown

Coming in fourth place in our 2023 countdown is the mixed-use development at 1114 W Carroll Avenue in Fulton Market. Located on the intersection with N May Street, the building replaces an empty lot as part of a two-structure project which is part of the Fulton Park Campus. Both buildings are being developed by Texas-based Trammell Crow who also built Fulton Labs nearby.

Cassidy On Canal Ranks Fifth Place in Year-End Construction Countdown

Located at 350 N Canal Street in the Fulton River District, the ‘Cassidy on Canal’ is a 33-story high rise developed by The Habitat Company and Diversified Real Estate Capital LLC. At fifth place in our year-end construction countdown, this mixed-use structure stands at 355 feet and is currently in the final stages of its facade installation.Cassidy on Canal. 225 N Elizabeth in Fulton Market Approaches Facade Completion as Seventh Tallest Construction Project

Facade work is nearing completion at the 225 North Elizabeth Street project in Fulton Market, a collaboration between Sterling Bay and Ascentris. This 28-story mixed-use building, situated at the corner of Fulton and Elizabeth Streets, ranks seventh in the construction countdown and has reached its maximum height of 314 feet.

City Council Approves 167 N Racine Avenue In West Loop

The Chicago City Council has approved the rezoning for mixed-use redevelopment of 167 N Racine Avenue in the West Loop. Sitting mid-block between W Randolph Street and W Lake Street, the project will add two floors to the existing structures with added residential. The proposal is being led by Marduk Management with SPACE Architects + Planners working on the design.

868 N Wells Takes Eighth In Year-End Countdown

Lawson House Renovation Ranks #10 in In Year-End Countdown

The renovation of the Victor F. Lawson House, a historic 24-story building located at 30 W Chicago Avenue in the Near North Side, ranks #10 in our year-end countdown. Originally completed in 1931 and designed by Perkins, Chatten & Hammond, this former YMCA is being converted into 408 affordable studio apartments by Holsten Real Estate.

Plan Commission Reviews LeClaire Courts Redevelopment

A courtesy presentation was given to the Chicago Plan Commission for the second-phase of the LeClaire Courts redevelopment at 4458 S Cicero Avenue in Garfield Ridge. Located on the corner with W 45th Street, the proposal will replace the former home of the public housing project of the same name. The development is being led by The Habitat Company and Cabrera Capital Partners with local firm SCB working on its design.

The Saint Grand Finalizes Construction at #12 in Year-End Countdown

The Saint Grand, ranked as the 12th project in our yearly countdown of the tallest construction projects, is nearing the completion of its facade construction at 218 E Grand Avenue in Streeterville. This 21-story mixed-use building is a collaboration between Mavrek Development, GW Properties, Luxury Living, and Double Eagle Development, offering 248 residential units, 45,000 square feet of office space, and 7,500 square feet for retail purposes. NORR designed the 238-foot structure, characterized by its modern facade of dark metal and glass and distinctive columns of protruding glass balconies.
