A demolition permit has been issued for the site at 126 W Grand Avenue in River North. The two-story masonry mixed-use building will be removed, having formerly housed a Rosati’s and office space above. According to a listing by @properties, the 4,300-square-foot building was being sold for $5.7 million. The listing also mentioned that four city lots were being sold at 122-128 W Grand Avenue, suggesting a possible larger development that may arise. However, it is unknown if the owner, BLJ Grand Holdings, has purchased the other three lots.

A groundbreaking has been held for a major new mixed-use development at 121 W Michigan Boulevard in Michigan City, Indiana. One of the furthest cities within the greater Chicagoland Metropolitan Area, the 32,000 person city is hoping to revitalize its downtown with its connection to Chicago. Led by YAB Development, who also helped develop Google and McDonald’s in Fulton Market, the project is being designed by Chicago’s Koo Architects.

A rendering has been revealed for the recently approved mixed-use development at 1100 W Grand Avenue in West Town. Located just east of the intersection with W May street and south of the I-90 W Ohio Street exit loop, the new project will replace a car shop and its adjacent parking lot currently on the site. Led by Wildwood Investments and Sterling Bay, the new building is being designed by bKL Architecture.
