Further Details Revealed For Next Phase Of Lincoln Yards

Further details and initial floor plans have been revealed for the next phase of Lincoln Yards near Goose Island. Building upon the initial information we covered this past December, developer Sterling Bay brought forward another informational presentation to the Chicago Plan Commission as it does not need any further approval. Designed by local firms Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture and Gensler along with Hoerr Schauft and Site Design Group on the landscape team, the project is expected to be completed in 2025.

Second-Floor Takes Shape at 4600 N Kenmore Avenue in Uptown

Structural work has begun to fill out the second floor of a new five-story development at 4600 N Kenmore Avenue in Uptown. Developed by Cedar St. Companies, this new edifice will accommodate 2,500 square feet of ground-level commercial space, alongside 62 rental apartment dwellings. Attached directly to the west will be a two-story former bank building undergoing renovation as part of the development. Upon completion, the new programming at this separate 1050 W Wilson Avenue address will be a relocated performing venue for Double Door Music. As for the under construction east parcel, that site was formerly home to a surface parking lot.

Platform 4611 Mid-Rise Springs Up in Uptown

In Uptown, steel work can now be seen rising for a nine-story mixed-use building known as Platform 4611 at the corner of Broadway & Wilson. Under the address 4611 N Broadway, this roughly 150,000-square-foot development by John Buck Company and Free Market Ventures will offer ground-level commercial units between 1,628 and 2,178 square feet, as well as 200 apartments on the upper levels. This parcel was formerly occupied by a low-rise masonry commercial building that was demolished early last year.

Sterling Bay Announces Partnership On 160 N Morgan In The West Loop

Developer Sterling Bay has announced a partnership for its 160 N Morgan Street mixed-use development in the West Loop. The joint venture will be with Colorado-based real estate private equity firm Ascentris and will see the ground-breaking of the high-rise in the first quarter of 2022. Designed by local firm bKL Architecture on a mid-block lot that once held a drive-thru bank, the demolition of the existing building has begun with site prep expected to commence soon after.
