City Council Approves Redevelopment At 2653 N Clark Street In Lincoln Park

The Chicago City Council has approved the redevelopment and land-use agreement for The Covent Hotel mixed-use renovation at 2653 N Clark Street in Lincoln Park. Located on the corner with W Drummond Place just a few blocks from the lake, the proposal would reconvert the Single Room Occupancy (SRO) property into affordable studios led by the National Historic Preservation (NHP) Foundation. The approval would also allow for city funds to be distributed to NHP to fulfill the conversion that has been in the works since 2019.

Initial Plans Revealed For Mixed-Use Development In Humboldt Park

Initial plans have been revealed for a new mixed-use building on the Humboldt Park Health campus in Humboldt Park. The structure which will become a new wellness and workforce development center is being developed by local organization ASI Home Care, who has not disclosed a formal address for the proposal. ASI is partnering with design firms Urban Works and APMonarch, both of which are Latinx owned and run companies on the neighborhood project.

Facade Work Spotted on 345 N Morgan Street in Fulton Market District

Brick cladding can be seen for Sterling Bay’s 345 N Morgan Street, an 11-story mixed-use development in Fulton Market. This 200,000-square-foot edifice will house a mix of ground-level retail and offices above. Prior to construction, the site was occupied by a low-rise masonry building. The replacing structure will measure 178 feet in height despite the relatively low floor count.

Community Development Commission Approves Mixed-Use Development At 201 S Kedzie Avenue In East Garfield Park

The Community Development Commission has approved the land sale and Tax Increment Financing (TIF) funds for the affordable mixed-use development at 201 S Kedzie Avenue in East Garfield Park. Going by the name ‘Garfield Green’, the two-site project located on the intersection with S Fifth Avenue recently received approval from both the plan commission and city council. Developer Preservation of Affordable Housing won the C40 Reinventing Cities competition in 2018 with structures designed by Perkins + Will and Nia Architects
