Initial details have been revealed for a new mixed-use development at 2140 S Ashland Avenue in Heart of Chicago. Located on the intersection with W 21st Place and across the street from Benito Juarez High School, the new proposal will replace a vacant lot near the industrial heart of the predominantly Latin neighborhood right on the border with Pilsen. The project comes to us from local developer The Resurrection Project with various affordable developments nearby. At the moment, an architect is unknown.

New renderings and details have emerged for 3950-3959 N Damen Avenue in North Center, where developers Orchard Development Group and Ravine Park Partners are planning a mixed-use development spanning two blocks. As proposed, the complex would provide a mix of new apartments with affordable options (20 percent of the units for those making up to 60 percent AMI), retail space, and a 3,000-square-foot public plaza.

DPD Announces Finalist For Central Manufacturing District Redevelopment In McKinley Park

The Chicago Department of Planning and Development has announced the three finalists for the redevelopment of the city-owned warehouse at 1769 W Pershing Road in McKinley Park. Located slightly west of the intersection with S Ashland Avenue, the Request For Proposal (RFP) called for applicants to imagine a new use for the easternmost structure of the historical Central Manufacturing District. The RFP also allowed for the applicants to include an adjacent one-story industrial building and parking lot as well.
