Plans for the mixed-use redevelopment at 6300 S Cottage Grove Avenue in Woodlawn are set to be reviewed at this month’s zoning meeting. Located on the intersection with E 63rd Street, the project will restore and expand the old Washington Park National Park Bank building at the heart of the neighborhood. This work is being led by developer DL3 Realty who tapped local firm bKL Architecture for its design.
A construction permit has been issued for a mixed-use development at 830 N California Avenue in Humboldt Park. This four-story masonry building will contain three residential dwelling units and retail space on the ground floor. It will also feature a new rear metal deck and stairs, as well as a three-space carport. The project will replace what was previously an undeveloped site. Judson Christensen of Aurora, IL, is listed as the owner.
A meeting time has been set to review the zoning application for the mixed-use development at 3327 N Lincoln Avenue in Lake View. Replacing the long-term home of neighborhood staple Dinkel’s Bakery, the new proposal will also demolish three-additional buildings ranging from one to three stories in height. Developer PCR Group is working with Jonathan Splitt Architects on the design, whose application was deferred at last month’s zoning meeting.
A new four-story mixed-use building has been completed at 2111 W Caton Street in Wicker Park. The development occupies a triangular lot, bordered by Caton Street, an adjacent commercial building, and the CTA L tracks. Previously, a single-story masonry building stood on this site. The developer, Lux Living 4U, has constructed eight residential units and ground-floor retail space.
Facade work is progressing toward completion at the former Sears store located at 4712 W Irving Park Road in Portage Park. The location is undergoing a transformation into a $90 million, six-story mixed-use development. Spearheaded by Novak Construction, in dual roles as developer and general contractor, the redevelopment work will yield 50,000 square feet of retail space and 206 residential units, with Target confirmed as the anchor retail tenant.
