Demolition work can be seen at the site of the former Sears department store, situated at 4712 W Irving Park Road in Portage Park. Under development by Novak Construction, this initial work will clear the way for a mixed-use transformation. Estimated to cost $90 million, this massive undertaking is another piece of a broader effort to enliven the six corners commercial node. Just across the street, work is progressing rapidly for a 10-story senior living and retail development known as Clarendale Six Corners.

City Council Approves Rezoning For Mixed-Use Development At 3914 N Lincoln Avenue In North Center

The Chicago City Council has approved the rezoning of a mixed-use development at 3914 N Lincoln Avenue in North Center. Located in an oddly shaped lot wedged between N Damen Avenue to the west and N Lincoln Avenue to the east, the project replaces an empty lot and various existing buildings, one of which was orange-rated. The team behind the dense project is Longford Construction with SPACE Architects + Planners as the designers.

Landmarks Approves Demolition For Mixed-Use Development At 210 N Aberdeen Street In West Loop

The Commission on Chicago Landmarks has approved the partial demolition of an existing historical industrial building for an upcoming mixed-use development at 210 N Aberdeen Street in the West Loop. Located just south of the intersection with W Fulton Street, the demolition approval allows the greater high-rise project to proceed forward with its approval process. Developer LG Development Group is working with local firm NORR.

Construction Commences for HUGO Development in River North

Following permit approval from last summer, foundation work can now be seen for LG Development’s HUGO masterplan, which involves the construction of two mid-rise buildings in River North. Located at 751 N Hudson Avenue and 411 W Chicago Avenue, these two mixed-use structures will each stand nine stories and will collectively house 230,000 square feet of programming, made up of roughly 19,000 square feet of retail and 227 apartment dwellings. The two buildings will replace former parking lots, and will be narrowly separated by an existing masonry low-rise building.
