Western Facade Fills Out for Pedro Albizu Campos Apartments in Humboldt Park

Much of the facade has been installed along the western street wall of the Pedro Albizu Campos Apartments, located at 1203 N California Avenue in Humboldt Park. This nine-story affordable housing development occupies a previously vacant lot and spans a total of 83,000 square feet. The 95-foot building will yield 64 housing units on the upper floors and 2,500 square feet of retail space on the ground floor. Named after Puerto Rican activist Pedro Albizu Campos, the development is a collaborative project between the Hispanic Housing Development Corporation (HHDC) and Pappageorge Haymes.

Initial Funding Secured For First Phase Of Halsted Pointe On Goose Island

Partial financing has been secured for the first tower of the Halsted Pointe development at 901 N Halsted Street on Goose Island. Located on the southern tip of the island, the mixed-use project replaces the Greyhound Bus facility with permits being applied for late last year with the city. Canadian-based developer Onni Group is not only behind this project but also Halsted Landing right across the river.

$50 Million Renovation Announced For Prudential Plaza

A renovation has been announced for the Prudential Plaza complex at 130 E Randolph Street in New East Side. Located on the corner with N Stetson Avenue and across the street from Millenium Park, the complex is currently owned by Wanxiang America Real Estate Group. The US-based real-estate developer is part of Wanxiang Group, a Chinese automotive manufacturer.

Exterior Walls Continue Installation for 43Green Phase II in Bronzeville

Installation of the outer walls is progressing on the exterior of 43Green Phase II, a mixed-use development project in Bronzeville. The project recently reached a milestone by topping out at a height of 106 feet. Located at 4309 S Prairie Avenue, adjacent to the 43rd Street CTA station, the project follows the completed initial phase located on the other side of the tracks.

Updated Details Revealed For Old Town Canvas Residential Tower

Updated details were revealed for the mixed-use development dubbed ‘Old Town Canvas’ at 1610 N LaSalle Drive. Developer Fern Hill showed the new renderings at a community meeting earlier this week, with neighbors voicing their concerns. Local design firm GREC Architects is working on the tower which will replace the existing Walgreens on the corner with W North Avenue.

4513 N Clark Street Nears Facade Completion in Uptown

Final facade work is underway for a new mixed-use development at 4513 N Clark Street in Uptown. This new five-story project, known as Harmony Apartments, is replacing several one-story masonry commercial buildings. MCZ Development has planned a total of 56 units, with six being affordable. The residential section, positioned above 3,400 square feet of ground-floor retail space, will offer access to a rooftop deck and a resident amenity room.

Facade Fills Out at 3355 N Southport in Lake View

A new four-story mixed-use project is taking shape at 3355 N Southport Avenue in Lake View. Replacing a former two-story building, this transit-oriented development by Harris Properties will house approximately 3,700 square feet of commercial space and six residential units above. The retail component will be split between the ground floor and a basement level.

Updated Details Revealed For Residential Tower At 420 N May Street In West Loop

Updated plans have been disclosed for the mixed-use development at 420 N May Street in the West Loop. Crescent Heights, a Miami-based developer and the same team responsible for NEMA in the South Loop, has submitted the project for the upcoming Plan Commission meeting. The HPA-designed project is set to replace a cluster of small buildings on the corner with W Kinzie Street.

Construction Wraps Up for 4537 N Clark Street in Sheridan Park

Construction has finalized for a new four-story building at 4537 N Clark Street in Sheridan Park, located near the intersection with W Wilson Street. The project, led by Longford Construction as both the developer and architect, replaces former one-story and two-story retail buildings. Initially proposed in 2017, the plans have undergone several revisions and experienced a change in ownership, prompted by community feedback.

Second Phase of The Sally Begins Cladding in Uptown

The mixed-use development at 1131-1135 W Winona Street in Uptown, known as ‘The Sally,’ is progressing with construction already completed for 1135 W Winona Street and facade work underway for 1131 W Winona Street. Developed by Cedar St. Companies, The Sally comprises two five-story buildings, collectively offering 180 units ranging in size from studios to two-bedroom configurations, including 37 affordable residences. This complex represents the second phase of ‘The Draper,’ the initial phase of which houses 342 units and is located just south at 5050 N Broadway.
