Ranking 25th in the year-end countdown of tallest Chicago construction projects, 920 N Wells Street is continuing facade installation in Near North Side. The 21-story tower developed by JDL is the first step in a larger $1.3 billion development known as North Union.
Rising into the 26th place on our year-end countdown is the mixed-use development at 210 N Aberdeen Street in the West Loop. Located not too far from yesterday’s entry of Embry, the multi-mass project is near the intersection with W Fulton Street. The team at LG Development Group worked with local architecture firm NORR on its design with Power Construction executing on the plans.
Plans have been unveiled for a new 15-story mixed-use tower at 640 W Randolph Street in West Loop Gate. Vista Property Group intends to replace a surface parking lot with the new 225-foot-tall structure at the intersection of Randolph and Desplaines. There will be a total of 117,000 square feet of office space atop 2,500 square feet of ground-level commercial space.
A new construction permit has been issued for the first phase of a mixed-use development at 3437 W Flournoy Street in Homan Square. Dubbed the Homan Square Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) project, the three-site proposal is being built in multiple phases with the lots centering around S Homan Avenue just south of the highway. Hoping to tackle various housing issues, the locally-led Foundation for Homan Square is envisioning the project with popular design firm JGMA working on the buildings.
Construction permits have been issued for a four-story mixed-use building set for 4939 N Damen Avenue in Ravenswood. Fortech, Inc is the filing owner, whose plans include 12 total units, along with first-floor retail and a 12-vehicle garage topped with a rooftop deck. The property was formerly occupied by a one-floor masonry commercial building.
