Plan Commission Approves Mixed-Use Development In West Englewood

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the mixed-use development at 6206 S Racine Avenue in West Englewood. Located on the intersection with W 62nd Street, the proposal is a redevelopment of a vacant school building which housed Woods Elementary that closed in 2013. Now a development team called ‘Go Green’ made up of Gorman & Company LLC, the Inner-City Muslim Action Network, Resident Association of Greater Englewood, Team Englewood, and E.G. Woode is leading the charge with Nia Architects on the design.

Design Updated for 4640 N Western Avenue in Lincoln Square

Another design iteration has been revealed for 4640 N Western Avenue in Lincoln Square. Situated directly south of the Western station serviced by the Brown Line, the plans are being developed by Macon Construction, while Hirsch MPG is the project architect. The mixed-use proposal highlights a new six-story building that will incorporate an adjacent four-story structure. The project plans to provide a total of 74 apartment units and ground-floor retail space.

Updated Details Revealed For Phase One Of Haslted Pointe On Goose Island

Updated details have been revealed for the first phase of the Halsted Point development at 901 N Halsted Street on Goose Island. Replacing the long-standing Greyhound Bus facility which is being demolished on the southern end of the island, the new multi-tower project will sit near the upcoming permanent casino just two-blocks to the south. Canadian-based Onni Group is behind the proposal with local firms Hartshorne Plunkard Architecture and Hitchcock Design Group on the team.
