A Final Look at the Now-Complete 320 N Sangamon Street in Fulton Market

The 13-story retail and office building known as 320 N Sangamon Street has officially opened just to the north of West Loop‘s Fulton Market corridor.
Facade work is approaching completion at Southbridge Phase I, which comprises of two six-story buildings located at 2310 S State Street and 2344 S State Street in Chicago’s Near South Side. Developed by McCaffrey and The Community Builders, each building will offer ground-level retail and 103 mixed-income apartments on the upper floors. Amenities will comprise of a fitness center, a community dining space, and multiple outdoor terraces with city views. Parking will also offer surface-level spaces located in the rear.
Demolition permits have been issued for a two-story masonry building at 3654-56 W Belmont Avenue in Avondale. Wilmot Construction Inc. is the owner, whose plans involve a four-story mixed-use building with 2,100 square feet of ground-level retail and nine dwellings on the three upper floors. Residences will range from two- to three-bedrooms units, each of which will come with a balcony. Plans also include a rooftop deck and nine parking spaces integrated on the ground floor.
Work has reached full height at 508 E Pershing Road, a four-story mixed-use building that recently topped out in Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood. Planned by The Community Builders Inc, the development will house 3,500 square feet of ground-floor retail with 53 residential units on the upper floors. Under the Chicago Housing Authority, 36 of these units will be affordable, with the remaining 17 residences as market rate.
Construction is now above street level for Inspire West Town, an eight-story mixed-use development by Bond Companies located at 1140 W Erie Street. The 108-foot-tall West Town development will house ground-level retail and a total of 113 rental units. Six of these units will be affordable, while an additional 17 will be provided off site under the Affordable Requirements Ordinance.
