Mixed-Use Development Proposed For 250 W 22nd Place In Chinatown

Plans have been revealed for the mixed-use development at 250 W 22nd Place in Chinatown. Located just west of the intersection with S Wentworth Avenue, the project comes at a time when Chicago’s Chinatown seems to be growing and maintaining its identity compared to others nationally. The proposal will replace the existing two-story Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association (CCBA) building and its adjacent lots with a new singular structure. The development team is made up of the CCBA and the Michaels Development Company who have tapped WJW Architects for the design.

Plan Commission Approved Team Pioneros In Humboldt Park

The Chicago Plan Commission has approved the mixed-use development at 4000 W North Avenue in Humboldt Park. Dubbed Team Pioneros, the project will restore the existing Pioneer Bank building on the corner with N Pulaski Road and construct a new structure behind it. The colorful proposal is also a winner of the city’s Invest South/West initiative and is being led by Park Row Development as well as local architecture firm JGMA, who will eventually call the property home when the firm moves its current offices.

Groundbreaking Imminent For Harper Court Phase II In Hyde Park

Demolition work has begun and a groundbreaking is imminent for the second phase of the Harper Court development at 5209 S Harper Avenue in Hyde Park. Located on the corner with E 52nd Street, the upcoming structure will replace a one-story building and vertically expand the existing shops from phase one. Its construction comes after multiple revisions and set-backs that downsized the originally proposed high-rise to the current low-rise. Developers Beacon Capital Partners and Trammell Crow are working with Elkus Manfredi Architects and Interactive Design Architects on the updated proposal we covered last summer.

Updated Renderings Revealed For The Row In Fulton Market

Updated renderings and details have been revealed for the upcoming mixed-use skyscraper at 900 W Randolph Street in Fulton Market. Coming in at third place on last year’s countdown list, the nearly completed tower is located on N Peoria Street and has officially received a new name and will now be known as ‘The Row’, due to its proximity to restaurant row. Developer Related Midwest has been working on the structure designed by New York-based Morris Adjmi Architects who also worked on the nearby 917 Fulton Market YIMBY recently covered.

Construction Digs in for 151 N Michigan in New Eastside

Construction is now well underway for 151 N Michigan Avenue in New Eastside, where BJB Partners has planned for a three-story mixed-use building. Located at the prominent corner of Michigan Avenue and Randolph Street, the development replaces a former single-story restaurant venue. The new construction will house a total of 15,000 square feet of commercial space, of which 5,300 square feet will be retail on the first level. This level will be split into either two or three commercial units depending on demand. The above floors will either be office or additional retail, along with a bridge connection on the second level to the adjacent Millennium Park Plaza.
