With Pair Of Workers Cottages Demolished, 2129 North Damen Avenue Construction Begins In Bucktown

Two workers cottages have been demolished, and now construction work is underway, for a new residential development in the Bucktown neighborhood at 2129 North Damen Avenue. The cottages, both likely built in the 1900s-1910s, were permitted for demolition on September 6, and were torn down soon after. Once demo contractor DemoX was finished removing rubble, general contractor BM UK Enterprise Company got to work on the new build. The entity of Development Group LLC Fulton Market Branch is named in the new construction permit, issued August 19, as the developer.

Site Prep Is Underway At 453 West Briar Place In Lake View

Site prep has begun for a new multi-family residential development at 453 West Briar Place in Lake View. The five-story, six-unit condominium project is being built by Chicago’s GVP Development. They got a new construction permit back on May 21 for the property. And now, dirt is being ushed around in anticipation of getting foundation work started, which was permitted separately in November of 2023.

Demolition Permit Issued For Our Lady Of Fatima Church At 3051 North Christiana Avenue In Avondale

A demolition permit has been issued to tear down Our Lady of Fatima Church at 3051 North Christiana Avenue in the Avondale neighborhood. The City of Chicago issued the permit Monday, October 28. So far, there are no signs of demo preparation at the church. Built in 1956, it was initially part of St. Hyacinth Basilica, located about half a mile west on Wolfram Street.
