Construction has reached the second level on a five-story residential building at 3015 North Southport Avenue in the Lake View neighborhood. The development from Advent Properties will contain seven dwelling units, likely to be condos, with seven indoor parking spaces included on the first floor.
A pair of permits issued in March by the City of Chicago will allow the South Side Community Art Center to begin work on an addition to the Bronzeville building they’ve called home since 1940. A demolition permit issued April 1 calls for the removal of the coach house at the rear of the 1892-built structure, and a renovation permit issued March 13 authorizes foundation and site work for a three-story addition.
Construction crews have reached the top floor at the corner of Haddon and Milwaukee Avenues in Wicker Park, as Wicker Park Place edges closer to topping out. The four-story with basement, 14-unit residential building from developer and general contractor Wicker Park Apartments broke ground last summer, will be addressed as 1504 West Haddon Avenue. The first residents are expected to move in this coming fall.
The City of Chicago has issued a renovation permit for reconstruction of the CTA’s Austin Green Line elevated platform. John Burns Construction Company, the firm that completed the new Peterson Ridge Metra station last summer, is named as the general contractor. Design work was performed by Epstein.
The first pre-cast concrete panels have been erected for the forthcoming TimeLine Theatre at 5035 North Broadway in Uptown. General Contractor Bulley Andrews began the installation work in mid-March at the front of the site. As progress proceeds, the newly-built portion will to connect to the five-story remainder of the former W. C. Reebie and Brother storage building.
